Dear Members and Friends, After our Summer break it is now full steam ahead for our production of Music Man (Tues. 21st – Sat. 25th October. Evenings at 7.45pm, Sat matinee at 2.30pm). This is going to be a very popular show, so we could sell out if everyone tries hard to sell tickets. Tues evening £8.00 (concessions £6.00), Wed & Thurs £9.00, Fri £11.00 including cheese and wine, Sat matinee £8.00 (concessions £6.00) and Sat evening £10.00. Tickets from Dizzy on 01245 360532 or Avrohurst, 53, High Street, Ingatestone from Oct 1st. We have a large cast with lots of young people and with tunes like “76 Trombones”, “Till there was you”, “Wells Fargo Wagon”, it is a great show for all the family.
On Nov. 15th we are planning to have a Karaoke evening at Fryerning. Bring your friends for a fun evening. More details later but put the date in your diary. On Dec. 5th there is a Victorian Evening in Ingatestone. It is always very enjoyable and we will be singing carols and Christmas songs, organised by Betty Moore. Then on Dec. 7th there will be a Christmas party at Derick Sanders starting at 5pm, with an open fire, decorations, Xmas trees and buffet supper. We cannot be guaranteed snow but we can provide mulled wine (or soft drink) on arrival, mince pies and Father Christmas may be able to pop in. Cost will be £8.50 (£6 children) to include the welcome drink. Carols and songs will again be sung. Let Dizzy or Norma know f you want to come. The Community Club is holding a Jumble Sale. If you have anything suitable please bring it along and leave it in the hall, where it will be stored until Nancy, our new Bar Manager, has enough items. In February we are to hold a Quiz Night in the Community Club in aid of further improvements to the Club. Richard Pennicard has kindly agreed to mastermind it. If you can help Front of House for “Music Man” please let Norma or me know. As always we need people to sell sweets, teas, raffle tickets and programmes and show people to their seats. Tickets are now on sale from Dizzy, before they go into the Box Office. Sell all you can – it’s a good show and everyone will enjoy it. Our next show will be “Carousel”, produced by James Sinclair, MD’d by Ali Ribchester and choreography by our own Pan Sutton. The show after that is “Anything Goes”, produced by Meryl Spinks, one of our members and MD’d by Dorothy Taylor, who plays piano for some of our rehearsals. Finally, our good friend, John Darwent tells me that his Barbershop Chorus, Chelmsford Star Harmony, are putting on a concert on Friday 14th November in Billericay. There are over 20 in the choir and following on from some barbershop singing in the Music Man, he guarantees you will have a super evening. You can contact him for more details on 01277 654525. Yours sincerely, Lilian 01277 352360
