3rd to 5th April 2014
About this show:
Using real accounts of women who lived through the war, punctuated beautifully with some of the most enduring music and songs from the period, IMOG present 'Keep the Home Fires Burning'. The brave exploits of six million British soldiers who served in World War II fill our history books, but what about the women they left behind? These wives, mothers, sisters and daughters and their stories of this most difficult time and their invaluable contribution to the war effort are so often forgotten. Bravely taking on the jobs the men had to leave and keep the country on its feet involved working in factories, working on the land, driving fire engines and ambulances. Their supreme effort must never be forgotten. This IMOG musical production proved to be great fun for the whole family, who came in large numbers to the show and joined in the fun! |
