Our Next Show….

Picture
Betty Blue Eyes is a fairly new musical based on the screenplay of ‘A Private Function’ by Alan Bennett.
Music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, with book by Ron Cowan and Daniel Lipman.
The Original West End production was in 2011 at the Novello Theatre produced by Cameron MacIntosh, starring Sarah Lancashire,  followed by a UK Tour including the Mercury Theatre, Colchester.
It's  1947. Belts are being tightened, and the Government is telling the country there'll be fair shares for all if they survive Austerity Britain. Having won the war, Britain seems to be losing the peace: the country is staggering under rationing, unemployment, and the coldest winter for decades.
The only bright spark on the horizon is the impending Royal Wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Meanwhile, a group of local officials plan to feather their own nests by taking more than their fair share. And so we meet Betty...!
